Art of Boxing Promotions (AOB) continues establishing itself as a premiere fight promotional company in Los Angeles. After the sold out Warner Center War II, AOB is ready to close the year 2008 with a “Knock Out” Christmas gift for the California boxing fans. “Season’s Beatings” Christmas boxing show will feature world class boxers as well as some of the most talented and popular local fighters.
In the Main Event, former IBF Jr. Middleweight World Champion Roman “Made in Hell” Karmazin 36 (ko23)-1, from Russia will attempt to reestablish his career and his status as an elite fighter when he squares off against another former WBO World Champion Branco “Superman” McKart 51(ko31)- 8, from Monroe, MI. Karmazin vs. McKart 12 round main event will be for the IBF Intercontinental and NABF Middleweight Championships.
In the co-main event Freddie Roach prospect and fan favorite Dean “Irish Lighting” Byrne will put his undefeated 9 (ko3) – 0 record on the line against an opponent to be announced. After a second round destruction of a tough veteran Geoffrey Spruiell during Warner Center War II and a quality sparring experience with 2004 Olympic finalist and British boxing star Amir Khan, the “Irish Lighting” is ready to strike again before the end of the year and to elevate his status as a top prospect in the Jr. Welterweight division.
In the featured bout of the night popular Armenian fighter Vardan “Casper” Gasparyan 10 (ko5) - 1, from Glendale, CA, will continue his rise in the Welterweight division. Gasparyan, representing Glendale Fighting Club, also comes out of a thunderous September win. In a spectacular main event “Casper” knocked out hard punching Anthony Charnell inside one round during WCWII and he looks forward to give the gift of winning to his fans and himself when he steps into the ring during “Season’s Beatings” against an opponent to be announced.
In a Lightweight bout, Art “Lianheart” Hovhannesyan 7 (ko2) – 0, from Glendale, CA, will return to the ring after showing the heart and the might of a lion during his six round all out war against tough Mexican Jose Alfredo Lugo. In a fight where the “Lionheart” broke his hand in the second round, this undefeated Armenian warrior went on to win a Unanimous Decision while giving the fight fans the best fight of the night.
In another Jr. Welterweight bout, two young Mexican-American brawlers will battle it out for four rounds. East LA’s Anthony Mosquera 3 (ko1) – 0, now training out of Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club, promises to keep his record unblemished when he steps into the ring on December 20. But Mosquera will have his hands full when he faces Johnny “The Bulldog” Suarez 2 (ko1) – 1 from Burbank, CA. “The Bulldog” is anxious to get back into the “W” column after losing a very exciting four rounder, which he would have won if he didn’t suffer two careless, flash knockdowns in the hands of unbeaten Russian Max Skayzer.
Oxnard’s Roger Vargas (Ramo) 2 (ko1)- 0 not only represents a very traditional boxing city, but also carries the blood of a Champion. Roger wants to follow on his brother’s Fernando Vargas’s footsteps and become a World Champion one day. But to do that, he will need to pass by Joe Schilling who, after trying his strength in the octagon will make his professional debut as a boxer.
In the opening bout of the “Season’s Beatings” Glendale’s Gabriel “Gapo” Tolmajyan will see action in a four rounder against an opponent to be announced.
